Yesterday’s Shoot.

July 23rd, 2009

So yesterday on our walk with Hattie, I decided I wanted to take some photos. I had a really specific idea of what I wanted, so we tried to recreate it the best we could. And it worked!

I had hoped to have the photos with road markings in, but all the roads with road markings on would be too busy. And knowing the angry drivers here, we’d just get run down within seconds. I guess I could manipulate some in, but I am just too lazy to even bother. Meh.

And I have a gabillion more to edit which I’ll put up when I’m finished with them. As for now, I need to go and research some nice family portraits for this party we’re shooting on Saturday. Ooh the excitement! [:

Tuesday Afternoon.

July 7th, 2009

Saturday was my Aunt’s birthday party. She lives in Bristol, so we were up at the crack of dawn to drive the 3 hours there. We had lunch at a restaurant called Browns. We had delicious ravioli stuff which we found we could buy in Tesco’s today! After a quick outfit change we went on to have a barbeque at my Great Aunt’s house. I met all my 2nd cousins and my 1st cousins once removed, which was horribly confusing. We took the kids down to the stream where they went for a dip. It was really windy but pretty warm. The scenery was fantastic, we were surrounded by hills that just rolled into one another. We walked through fields and just had our own fun.

Last night was fantastic. Nathan treated me by taking us to see “The Hangover” which was hilarious (Thank you!) We couldn’t believe it was only rated 15 for the amount of nudity we saw, but it was all done in a “funny” way. Would highly recommend it for anyone with a warped sense of humour

Today’s been pretty quiet. We delivered some letters on behalf of the resident’s association and we got caught in the pounding rain, but we finished the job! We then had a massive thunderstorm in the afternoon which was refreshing, but pretty bloody loud. We’ve been having heaps of storms, at least 2 a week which never usually happens. Global Warming? Who knows! Anyway, we’re having Mediterranean style vegetables for dinner and I’m really hungry thinking about them. I’m stalking the Lom Bok website as I am deeply in love with their furniture. Their price tag is horribly unfair though and it makes me want to cry. A bed for £1000? Why, World, why?!

I’m trying to get into a new magazine called SOKOzine which has heaps and heaps of amazing photographs in. I really need to keep expanding on my portfolio, I’m really letting it slip! Seeing as I’m trying to really get out there now, here is my work twitter account: http://twitter.com/kittyphotos Nathan’s really busy with his web development. He’s pretty much got himself clients until the day we die, which is a good thing, but also puts him under a lot of pressure with deadlines and all that jazz. I’m so proud of everything he does as he’s always so calm and collected. [:

Anyway. I feel like tea time as I’m too hungry to wait until supper. Ooh, I just heard thunder. Not again!

Peace out!

Nathan’s Birthday.

June 27th, 2009

Last Sunday, June 21st, was Nathan’s birthday. We were up at 4 and then up again at 7 to open his presents. I think my surprise I’d put together for him went down really well. I’d gotten him an autographed Feeder poster and put it in a really vintage looking frame from the local art shop. I also got him some really awesome looking shorts and I personalised a huge notebook for him to do his coding in.

He then got presents from the rest of the family. Including a voucher from Libby and some really ace jeans from my parents… and a shirt with his catchphrase “Awesome” on it. We went ice skating at the Guildford Spectrum which was so much fun. The ice was all bumpy and bloody scary, but it was hilarious all the same. We ate veggie burgers whilst watching the F1 on a huge screen and got back in the car. We got a bit lost on the way back… we ended up in a hospital waste area which was kind of freaky. We could only wonder how many arms and legs there were in all the bins around us! We got home in one piece anyway, even if we were hysterically laughing all the way.

To really celebrate we had a tea party in the Sun. It was beautiful and the weather really beamed down on us. We had cupcakes and scones with tea to drink and a massive carrot cake for Nathan which was coated with nuts. It was delicious!

Then we drove up the Hill to the lake we like to wander around. The Sun was still very high in the sky (as it was the Summer Solstice) but the atmosphere was really magical. We even had some strange man come and ask to see the photos we’d taken. By the end of the day we just crashed. Everything went fantastically and Nathan deserved the most amazing day.

Today’s Photo Shoot.

June 17th, 2009

I must be absolutely addicted to jumping into muddy water to take photographs. The last week I have been so motivated to take photographs, I have been coming up with images in my mind and today I just couldn’t take it any longer. I had been planning a water shoot for a while and today was the day we decided to take the plunge (pun not intended!)

As we got there it started to rain. It was only a little few spots here and there, and once we were in, we became remarkably warm. It was actually quite nice! It was hard not to either show the remote or get it wet either, but I think the images turned out really nicely and I am so happy with the results.

That would be all from our side of the World for now. I’m off to find us some supper and to look into “stuff” for Nathan’s birthday present which I’m making. [:

Peace out!

Pooped!

June 14th, 2009

We did a lot of things today and it was heeeeeaps of fun! We woke up at 8, ate breakfast in bed whilst watching TV. Nathan then played Gran Turismo and I fell back to sleep until around 11. We went round to my parent’s, ate soup for lunch and lots of strawberries for pudding. The men had pineapple and mango too, but I don’t like their textures. We then hung around for a while, I glossed up some sausage rolls with egg yolk and sat in the Sun which was so hot.

It was my Grandpa’s 84th birthday party today. His real birthday is tomorrow, but he wanted all the family around for tea time. We all went up and it was manic. My eldest cousin Andrew was there, and he and Nay always hit it off, so they got chatting away. Libby always likes to beat him up, so she was at him with a rusty garden spade which was thoroughly dangerous! My two much younger cousins also came around, one in a Minnie Mouse costume; but I never play with them, they’re horrible.

Granny & Kitty

This is my Granny. Everyone says I look like her, but I don’t think I really do.

Grandpa

It was very sad. I took this photograph of Grandpa and his birthday cake and as I clicked to review it, I saw a photo of an old man looking back at me. I looked back at him and really did see how aged he was, and it made my heart sink. He then turned to me and said, “I hope I’m around for a little bit longer..” So I said, “God yes, 20 years at least please!” So he smiled. He and my Granny are always counting down to the day they’ll lie on their death beds. Ever since I was tiny, they have told me that they would never see my 10th birthday, my 18th birthday, the day I get married, the day they become great-grandparents, the day I get good at my career. But I want to let them see it to prove them wrong. I never want to grow old and wake up every day waiting for death to knock on the door.

Then we walked out of their house right into the fun fair. It’s an annual fair which comes every year, but it’s so over priced and I really hate the people who run it. A few years back they broke into my Grandparent’s house. Then a few years later, I saw one of them in my Grandparent’s garden; I have never screamed and run so fast in my life! They disappeared over the fence and no one believed my story of a hairy man watching me from a holly bush! But I know he was real. Scary old man. Libby met her friends at the fair, so they ran off whilst Nay and I supervised from a distance. The Sun was beating down on us and I broke out in some horrible rash on my leg from the grass, so now I look like I have bloody meningitis.

Balloons

After the fair we returned home in our horribly sticky car. We decided enough was enough, we didn’t want to be seen in some disgusting car which looked like it had been dipped in syrup. So Nathan got out the sponge and scrubbed to his wrist’s delight whilst I sat inside and dust-busted the carpets and seats and wiped down all the insides. We finished and were absolutely pooped out. I don’t think either one of us wants any form of supper, we just need an early night with the window wide open. I can’t believe how hot it’s gotten again. It rained all last week and now the Summer seems to be setting in. Oh yes! Summer time begins on Nathan’s birthday and I have finally found him the bestest present of all time. I can’t stop chuckling over it just to wind him up. Poor man, I really do kill him. I love him really. <3
