Oh Australia!

November 17th, 2009

Unfortunately for myself, Australia was all last week. I flew back home via Singapore on Thursday afternoon and arrived 5am on Friday back in my sleepy old city. Lots has changed in 3 months. Nathan now has UK entry clearance for another couple of years now which is absolutely great news. The whole process was tiring, but well worth it. So now I’m back in London awaiting Nathan’s return next week and trying to get all the surprise Christmas presents bought and wrapped!

Sydney was incredible. It’s a city full of energy and great people. Our trip really brought us closer together. We worked together to earn us some money. We did photo shoots together for magazines and we just lived. I have never felt so young and free in my life. We would sip wine in the park and then fall asleep in our jeans listening to A Fine Frenzy. The days were long and fun and Sydney was the break we both really needed after all the work we’ve done here in London. Nathan had a lot of web work to do whilst we were out there, but he did an amazing job at getting it all done and tying up loose ends. I’ll never cease to be proud of him.

Here are a few photos from our trip. They’re not typical holiday shots, but they really sum up the great time we had.

As for now, that is me signing out and anxiously awaiting to be reunited with the love of my life. A week apart is too long! I love you Nathan. <3

Shooting, shooting, shooting!

August 20th, 2009

I have taken so many shots over the past week, I’m pooped out but absolutely loving it! I’m very frustrated with being a photographer right now, but somehow my negativity is fuelling me forward. I look at art from famous photographers which I could take with my eyes closed. Look around DeviantART, Flickr or anywhere, everyone is taking the absolute piss and I hate it. I’m trying with my heart and soul and still getting nowhere. Notice me someone, notice this kid!

When we get back to the UK, I’m going to seriously get my name out there. I’ve already had to turn down a client as I’ll be overseas, so I hope she’ll still want photos when we’re home again. So watch out World, I’m going to hit you!

“The Eighth of The Eighth.”

August 9th, 2009

Well, where to even begin?

This time last year, I was just turning in to bed to prepare to get up in a mere 4 hours time to go and get Nathan from Heathrow. Now he is laying beside me in bed after giving me what is definitely the best day of my entire life.

Everything was perfect. I couldn’t have asked for more. I will always remember this most fantastic day with the fondest of memories. I cannot believe how blessed I have been, it makes me all emotional to think about!

Nathan wrote the most beautiful blog entry last night which filled my eyes with tears. When he writes I’m always reminded that little bit more as to why I fell in love with him. He really does create magic with words. He then wrote the most amazing birthday card for me which I woke up to this morning. Once again, my eyes brimmed with tears as I was just so grateful to be here today with him. This is the first birthday I have ever shared with him, he made everything as special as it possibly could’ve been.

Morning

He gave me a surprise necklace. I had been pestering him about it ever since he bought it a week ago, and eventually all my curiousity paid off. I received the most stunning of all stunning necklaces. It was a blue topaz on a gold chain. Once again, I got all soppy on him and kept strangling poor Nay with hugs.

After opening some more little birthday goodies including a well-needed iPod Touch (now I can finally listen to my tunes on the go again!) and some lovely, pretty clothes, we ate toast with nutella.

We then had a lovely lunch that my Mum had been planning for days with lots of vegetarian dishes especially for us too; which were delicious! We ate way too much, we all felt sick afterwards, but still had room for cake. Oh that cake was like a little bite of Heaven. We moved into the garden for that as the Sun was shining and it was a good 30 degrees for the first time in a week. I felt so lucky to have nice weather!

We then chilled after lunch, just lazed about and cuddled on the sofa. I had suggested we go to one of my favourite places, it’s a little tearoom which sells anything you want (within reason!) We all had a cup of tea and I went for chocolate ice cream as well as more birthday cake. It was lovely to have everyone together and all cheery. We then went for a walk and the afternoon light was incredibly magical. There was a cool yellow tone to everything, the World looked so beautiful this afternoon. I wish I could’ve stayed to watch everything.

Nathan and I took this in front of a bunch of heather plants. We really like heather as we once made one another lay down in it when we first met. It was pretty funny, so it holds some pretty odd but fun memories for us!

Sleeping

And then we crashed, we were totally pooped out! Nathan looks like this right now curled up next to me, listening to his iPod as he sleeps. He’s so cute, I want to stroke his face but I know I’ll wake him. It is 1am and I should be going to sleep too.

Thank you Nathan for such a fairytale day. You truly are my prince and I love you so much; eternally. <3 xx

And thank you everyone for all the wishes and for making today so special for me. Thank you so much. [:

Goodnight World, sleep tight and dream nice dreams.

rain

We were high school sweethearts. You were nineteen, I was eighteen.

We drove home in the rain, the windscreen wipers hypnotising us as we went. Puddles on the road looked like windows to new Worlds. The lights turned into bokeh as our sleepy heads watched the drops race down the windows. We pulled into a petrol station where we listened to tunes on your iPod. Pain of Salvation got us both reminiscing of days past. We drowsily walked into the shop, buying chocolate bars and magazines before running through the raindrops to get back to our “room on wheels.” We did some form of rain dance in that car park that night. We waited, the rain getting heavier, bouncing off our tinned vehicle. We drove home and parked near our tiny townhouse. The raindrops were relentless, effortlessly striking their way down to us. We waited. You read your newspaper as I flicked through a magazine. Our car smelt of apples. I lay on a rug in the backseat as you hummed to the sound of the radio. We watched flashing cars pull in and out of the police station, the blue lights turning to mere dots in our mirrors. We waited. I started to doze in and out of sleep on that backseat whilst making up poems in my mind. You turned to smile and giggle at me going to bed in our little car. It was an hour to midnight and the streets were empty, but busy with a water celebration. We finally decided to throw the doors open and run to our house, giggling and tripping over as we went.

That night the curtain broke and the hook fell on my head. You were worried and gave me cereal as you fixed it. I always thought you were some kind of superman in disguise. We curled up in bed, safe and sound. We cursed about our noisy housemates, but we didn’t care, we were young and carefree. We fell asleep on one another, our warm breath cradling one another in a hushed lullaby. Goodnight sweet Nathan, goodnight.

And that dear readers, is how Nathan and Kitty spent last night.

Saturday’s Happenings.

July 25th, 2009

Today Nathan and I had a party shoot to attend to in Mickleham. It was absolutely wonderful. There were a lot of famous people mingling around which was lovely, I got heaps of shots in. The speeches were adorable, I even had a little tear in my eye. The food was so well thought out and well prepared, everything was just lovely. I turned to Nay and said, “Do you think we’ll one day do this?” So we’ve agreed to have a shared 80th birthday party as there is only 48 days between his birthday and mine. I can’t wait! Well, I can, I don’t want to be 80 just yet! We have a long way to go and I hope to do a lot before we hit that age. 2070 here we come!

Nathan

On the way back today, I couldn’t resist but park up and go into an abandoned hospital ground. I have always had a curiousity for deserted buildings, but London has a lack of them. As soon as one closes, the boards go up and it is demolished within days, so I never get the chance. I saw this hospital close last year and it was still all boarded up today. So we ran down the path to explore the creepy place. I’m going to go back there before it gets demolished as there was a HUGE field out the back of it which was so surreal!

We got back, Nathan mowed the lawn, I watered all the plants and we ate delicious lasagne to BBC1. It’s now 9:30 and we should probably take the dog out for a late evening stroll so she doesn’t wake us up tonight. On that note, we shall now head off. Goodnight from England! More updates to follow soon! [:

Peace out!
