Lazy Weekend.

January 16th, 2010

The rain beat down heavily against our window panes. The grey light illuminated your face as my sleep kissed eyes focussed on your deeply breathing body. You were cosy under our duvet and I brought my feet to meet the warmth of your own. Your sleepy self pulled me tight into a hug and I fell back to sleep.

We had a lazy breakfast together and a lazy lunch too. We didn’t eat much, we were supposed to be detoxing but have instead just cut our portions down. Minority Report played as I curled under the blue blanket and you typed, your keys being music to my ears. I love these lazy days with you. The days when we don’t actually do anything, but it feels like you’ve done everything without words.

This is What we Love!

January 12th, 2010

[Picture drawn by Kiat]

Lately I have found a lot of horrible people scribbling all over my photographs. They write mean things on them about how love isn’t true and silly little quotes which mean nothing. The thing is, I take photographs of Nathan and I and I don’t have to share them, but I choose to. I like to share them with the World. They’re personal to me, they’re my memories. So why do people have the right to come and ruin them? It really hurts my feelings. Lately I’ve found a million of my photos all over Flickr which was another blow. Why can’t people just leave me and my photographs alone? Look, but don’t touch.

Anyway, today I found a very lovely surprise. This person called Kiat had drawn the photo which everyone has been vandalising. It really restored my faith in people out there. For every nasty person, there are at least 10 nice ones. Coming across Kiat’s Tumblr was such a treat, they’re so, so talented. So I hope that if Kiat ever comes across this post, it’ll be a nice surprise back. Thank you Kiat, thank you! Go and give them a visit. [:

This is the kind of stuff we love. Not theft or vandalism.

Snowstorms!

January 10th, 2010

If this image doesn’t scare you, then I don’t know what will! What on Earth is going on with the weather?! Yes, usually Winter is cold and you do get snow, but that doesn’t even look like Britain! That looks more like Iceland. Well, I guess we now know what happens when we demand they pay their debt back to us… they ice us over!

We have had 25cm where we live in London which is insane. Then we had “The Big Freeze” when all the roads then turned into 25cm of solid ice which was so frightening. So today we went for a walk to take some photos from the snow which dumped itself upon us a week ago. It’s scary how deep it still is! But we had a lot of fun running around and lobbing snow about the place. Got to love Winter. [:

In other news, we’re off to France at the end of the week for a holiday. I currently have a stye on my eye and have my pityriasis rosea skin condition back, so looks like something’s trying to tell me I’m run down. But I’m totally not, I’ve never had so much vitamin C in my life! Anyway, I have work experience with a very well known photographer tomorrow which I’m both excited about and terribly nervous about too! Nathan is working hard again after a lovely Christmas break together which I was so, so grateful for. Full steam ahead for 2010!

Roller-oller-blading!

January 4th, 2010

For Christmas, I bought Nathan a pair of in-line blades for us to go on long adventures with. I’ve had a red pair since I was 14 which still miraculously fit me, so we can now zoom around London together! So today we went to test them out at my Grandparent’s tennis court sans the embarrassment of pedestrians. It was all snowy and icy, but we found our feet and had a really great time racing up and down the court in the sunset. It was -3 degrees, so we were pretty cold by the end of it, but the adrenalin kept us warm enough to get home. I took a detour and kidnapped Nathan to take sunset photos which have come out beautifully. I’ll keep them as a surprise for another day. [:

That’s it for now. Toodles!

Winter Wonderland.

December 20th, 2009

Everything has been amazing. We’ve been in bliss mode with the wind just blowing us where we wish. The last few weeks have just taken my breath away again and again… and again.

Today is our 31 month anniversary. 31 of the happiest months of my life. Every month that creeps by reminds me of how my life was never complete without the man I love. I could not breathe without him by my side. When we’re apart, all I can do is cry. I may sound pathetic, but it reminds me of how the magic is never, ever lost. I love Nathan and nothing will ever change that.

The last few days here in London have been beautiful. It started to snow a few days ago. It was soft and fluffy at first and it kissed our swollen cheeks and lips. That night it seemed to just fall from the sky like ice cubes. We lay in bed with the lights off and watched it through our bay windows dance in the street. I have a street light right outside my bedroom window, and the orange glow made the snow even more alive. The next morning the whole place was quiet and white. The snow kept floating in the air around our heads and it has been on and off ever since. 4 days later the roads are all iced over and snow still remains in the shaded cool of the gardens and paths. We’re still being promised more, so we’re in for a big chance for a white Christmas. I’m so excited.

Our Christmas tree is up. We decorated it with beads and baubles and hooked candy canes over the branches. The presents are mainly under there, but I know I still have to wrap Nathan’s up, and he has to wrap mine. So I think I’ll take the right side of the room and he’ll take the left and we’ll have a wrapping race.

And today was magical. We walked in the snow in our favourite place where we always take our photographs. We sat on a hidden bench in the snowy forest and then came home. We went and rented 5 films, one of which is a nice Scottish romance one which we’ll curl up to tonight. We finished Christmas shopping and he brought us such yummy bread from an Italian market. The wind was so nippy on our eyes and our feet on the pavements were like Bambi on ice. It was so much fun all the same and it’s a day I’ll never, ever forget. Enough talking though. I’ll put some images below of all the snow we’ve had and I’ll start posting a lot more often again. I know probably no one reads this, but it’s quite a nice little personal record and journal for us. [:

From today.

From the other night when it snowed like anything!
