Walking The Dog!

March 16th, 2010

We have a lovely elderly Labrador called Hattie. She’s going to turn 14 in a couple of months and because she’s so old, we sometimes have to take her on little walks around the streets. Yesterday we took her for a lovely walk through some fields, so today was one of the small walk days. I took my camera and we got a few shots on our 10 minute adventure. [:

Sunny Saturday.

March 6th, 2010

Today was warm and golden. Woke up to the sound of church bells and birds singing, it felt like summer. I have never loved like I have loved today, I felt so free and young. And it has been too long since I have felt that way. I took a million photographs. I mean a million. But it felt great to get my finger on that shutter again. I can’t stop taking photographs, everything is so inspirational today, even the songs on the radio are filling my mind with snapshots, sounds, smells, everything!

I have put some out-takes and final images below for your viewing pleasure. I hope they’re alright. I felt we needed some new Nakitt shots together. Especially as life is so becoming so busy for us, it’s always great to get to take photographs and spend that time we would otherwise miss. <3

And now I’m off to watch Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It looks highly good. [:

A Little Bit of Everything!

March 4th, 2010

I had a photo shoot on Monday which was absolutely beautiful. It felt so good to meet someone so fresh into the modelling World. We had a wonderful time and it was great to just run around between trees and both be so passionate about the images we were creating. I hope she makes it, she was so beautiful and the fashion World is missing out on a lot without her. I made a flower band for her ginger locks and she lay in puddle water for me and was the most willing girl I’ve ever worked with. [: I’m still editing away all the shots which I am so thrilled with.

I have another shoot on the 19th which I’m most excited about. I need to scout some locations and gather outfits together. But as always, I’m keeping it very hush-hush so no one can steal my ideas. People have been doing that lately, and it’s not cool. Anyway, the hat for it arrived today from the US, so now it’s just down to me collecting a few more props and it’ll all be ready to go. I’m super stoked.

And even though they don’t need an introduction, I cannot recommend this album highly enough. It’s full of that Summer tune feeling, and seeing as it hasn’t stopped being so sunny for the past 4 days, it’s a great vibe to feel. Give them a listen.

Speaking of music, I recently discovered someone with the same initials as I. His name is Kyle Galanaugh, I know, weird how similar his name is to mine?! Gallannaugh and Galanaugh?! Spookily cool! Anyway, I stumbled upon his music by accident not that long ago and I was instantly hooked. He asked me to spread the news of his music, so I suggest you go and give it a listen here. It’s like the love-child of Coldplay and U2 and is so, so beautiful.

That is all from me today. Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine. That was one hell of a Winter and now we can all crawl outside again and enjoy the World again! [:

Kitty is bored..

February 25th, 2010

Just a few of my most recent photographs. [:

I’ve been quiet lately. Too quiet. My camera has remained snuggled in it’s cosy bag and I have felt starved of inspiration. The rain everyday, the constant cloud and the coldness has kept me inside as nothing is inspiring any more about the weather. It was such a mild Winter and now it’s nearly Spring and it’s even colder than before and it rains everyday. I am planning shoots for March so I can dip my toes back into the photographic pool, so I hope that it will be a sunny Spring. I’d like to imagine it’ll be slightly better by then.

Things have been good.

I have a Tumblr account which I actually use now and I’m becoming more and more addicted to it. It’s just a little place for my mind to wander and to gain all my inspiration into one area. I don’t really have a particular theme, it’s all over the place. But I hope I can make it into a little den of motivation for others to stumble across too.

I just want to slow life down. This week has already gone too fast for my liking and it’s freaking me out slightly. I like it fast though, it’s exciting. When we move into our flat I shall be buying a rabbit no matter what. I need a little pet to look after and photograph and give me inspiration, and I just happen to love rabbits. I used to have a pet one as a kid but she died when I was 7 and I was broken about it. So I would love to make up for all the years I went without little Thumper and to experience life with a rabbit again. It’ll be a little grey one I think. I’ve been looking up all the different breeds, but I’ll just have to find a local breeder and see what they can sell us. [:

I am so bored right now and I really have nothing much to blog about. My laptop is being sent off to HP tomorrow, and I know it’ll come back even more broken. But I wanted to at least try to get it fixed before the warranty runs out in August. Considering it was £1000, I haven’t been impressed by it’s performance in the slightest and was promised it was one of the best on the market. I hope it comes back better, but I know it’ll just go wrong again and by that stage my warranty will be dead. The life of laptops, ey?!

Anyway, I can smell the yummy supper Nathan has made, so I shall be following the woft of goodness now and call it a day! Ciao!

2010, we love you!

January 30th, 2010

Tomorrow is the last day of January. Feels kind of hard to believe that the first month of 2010 has already come and gone in the blink of the eye. It makes me happy though, I love fast months followed by the slow before everything builds up momentum again by the end of the year. This won’t be a sleepy year. We’re teenagers on fire.

We returned from Lille in France earlier this week after a fabulous holiday. I have never had so much fun walking around, speaking French, eating bread, bouncing on hotel beds and touching the ceiling, shivering in -3 degrees, sleeping whenever we wanted, buying pretty souvenirs for the family and taking a million photos together. We were so free and had a wonderful time. I’ll put some photographs below in a minute. [: Thank you so much once again for the incredible treat, Nay. <3

Yesterday and today were so sunny. After so much snow it’s so nice to feel the sun prickle your skin again. We haven’t had any rain lately, just cloud and more cloud. So seeing the blue sky in winter was a great uplifting boost. We went for gloriously muddy walks and took photos of the sunset and the huge full moon.

The last few nights we have had a mouse running around our bedroom. We lay a trap with food in, but it was clever enough to get the food out without going inside! This morning was the 4th night it has run around and it woke me up at 3am. I woke Nathan up and he drifted in and out of sleep as I tiptoed around the bedroom moving the trap to where I heard its little feet. By the time Nathan woke up at 8am I was still tiptoeing and feeling like a zombie. He felt groggy too as he kept dosing in and out of sleep all night. We got up and chased the tiny creature around. Nathan managed to corner it, but it jumped away and we carried on our chase. By 10.30 I managed to get it to crawl its tired little body into a trap and we placed her into a tank with sawdust, heaps of hamster bedding, food and water. She was so scared and burrowed away. But she’s been coming out more and more and doesn’t seem so jumpy any more. We are going to release her, but she is so tiny that we feel we need to capture a parent mouse to release her with to give her a fighting chance. Otherwise we’ll just have to be cruel to be kind. She obviously could never be tame and as cute as she is, she’s wild and so we’ll release her in the woods with a bit of food to start her off. I’ll take some photos of her and put them up if she comes out from sleeping. Her name is Honeysuckle.

2010 has been incredible so far. It has given me so many moments which have just taken my breath away. I have so many photographic opportunities lined up for this year and I feel like this is an amazing start. Nathan has been working away on a client’s site as well as finishing off his Mum’s and a new portfolio for me which I absolutely adore. He’s so smart, I wish I could code websites. It’s something I don’t think I could ever master, I’ll leave it to Nathan!

On that note I shall leave you with some recent images and I’m off to grab supper. Until next time!

And a photo that we took today in the 3 o’ clock setting Sun. It was beautiful. <3
