2010, we love you!

January 30th, 2010

Tomorrow is the last day of January. Feels kind of hard to believe that the first month of 2010 has already come and gone in the blink of the eye. It makes me happy though, I love fast months followed by the slow before everything builds up momentum again by the end of the year. This won’t be a sleepy year. We’re teenagers on fire.

We returned from Lille in France earlier this week after a fabulous holiday. I have never had so much fun walking around, speaking French, eating bread, bouncing on hotel beds and touching the ceiling, shivering in -3 degrees, sleeping whenever we wanted, buying pretty souvenirs for the family and taking a million photos together. We were so free and had a wonderful time. I’ll put some photographs below in a minute. [: Thank you so much once again for the incredible treat, Nay. <3

Yesterday and today were so sunny. After so much snow it’s so nice to feel the sun prickle your skin again. We haven’t had any rain lately, just cloud and more cloud. So seeing the blue sky in winter was a great uplifting boost. We went for gloriously muddy walks and took photos of the sunset and the huge full moon.

The last few nights we have had a mouse running around our bedroom. We lay a trap with food in, but it was clever enough to get the food out without going inside! This morning was the 4th night it has run around and it woke me up at 3am. I woke Nathan up and he drifted in and out of sleep as I tiptoed around the bedroom moving the trap to where I heard its little feet. By the time Nathan woke up at 8am I was still tiptoeing and feeling like a zombie. He felt groggy too as he kept dosing in and out of sleep all night. We got up and chased the tiny creature around. Nathan managed to corner it, but it jumped away and we carried on our chase. By 10.30 I managed to get it to crawl its tired little body into a trap and we placed her into a tank with sawdust, heaps of hamster bedding, food and water. She was so scared and burrowed away. But she’s been coming out more and more and doesn’t seem so jumpy any more. We are going to release her, but she is so tiny that we feel we need to capture a parent mouse to release her with to give her a fighting chance. Otherwise we’ll just have to be cruel to be kind. She obviously could never be tame and as cute as she is, she’s wild and so we’ll release her in the woods with a bit of food to start her off. I’ll take some photos of her and put them up if she comes out from sleeping. Her name is Honeysuckle.

2010 has been incredible so far. It has given me so many moments which have just taken my breath away. I have so many photographic opportunities lined up for this year and I feel like this is an amazing start. Nathan has been working away on a client’s site as well as finishing off his Mum’s and a new portfolio for me which I absolutely adore. He’s so smart, I wish I could code websites. It’s something I don’t think I could ever master, I’ll leave it to Nathan!

On that note I shall leave you with some recent images and I’m off to grab supper. Until next time!

And a photo that we took today in the 3 o’ clock setting Sun. It was beautiful. <3

32, 32, 32!

January 20th, 2010

32 months ago Nathan and I pronounced our first love for one another. 2 and bit years later here we are living, breathing and loving together even more than I ever could’ve possibly imagined. He made today magical for me. It was all like a fairytale.

We went to get hot chocolate. He bought me a muffin and himself a giant cookie. We sat and just relaxed in the warmth of the shop and watched the buses from the window. We then went to the cinema and saw Sherlock Holmes which was a top-notch film. We absolutely loved it, I can’t wait for it’s DVD release. We then went shopping and bought a lot of food for supper. We had an amazing pizza, salad and cream soda. Eating it in bed and watching BBC 2 felt more amazing than it ever could’ve done. It’s been such an incredible day and I’ve loved every single second.

When you find someone you love, you appreciate every second together. And how long and hard Nathan and I fought for one another has really paid off and I will never take a millisecond for granted. I love everything about this man, and this is my life and he is my future. I am so blessed.

Happy anniversary Nay. I love you. <3

Tuesday Fun!

January 19th, 2010

Tonight we went roller blading.
We went all around the park at sunset.
And then got ourselves locked in, so it took us an hour to get home.
It was heaps of fun though, even if we were nearly out of petrol.
I love moment like this with you Nay.

Lazy Weekend.

January 16th, 2010

The rain beat down heavily against our window panes. The grey light illuminated your face as my sleep kissed eyes focussed on your deeply breathing body. You were cosy under our duvet and I brought my feet to meet the warmth of your own. Your sleepy self pulled me tight into a hug and I fell back to sleep.

We had a lazy breakfast together and a lazy lunch too. We didn’t eat much, we were supposed to be detoxing but have instead just cut our portions down. Minority Report played as I curled under the blue blanket and you typed, your keys being music to my ears. I love these lazy days with you. The days when we don’t actually do anything, but it feels like you’ve done everything without words.

This is What we Love!

January 12th, 2010

[Picture drawn by Kiat]

Lately I have found a lot of horrible people scribbling all over my photographs. They write mean things on them about how love isn’t true and silly little quotes which mean nothing. The thing is, I take photographs of Nathan and I and I don’t have to share them, but I choose to. I like to share them with the World. They’re personal to me, they’re my memories. So why do people have the right to come and ruin them? It really hurts my feelings. Lately I’ve found a million of my photos all over Flickr which was another blow. Why can’t people just leave me and my photographs alone? Look, but don’t touch.

Anyway, today I found a very lovely surprise. This person called Kiat had drawn the photo which everyone has been vandalising. It really restored my faith in people out there. For every nasty person, there are at least 10 nice ones. Coming across Kiat’s Tumblr was such a treat, they’re so, so talented. So I hope that if Kiat ever comes across this post, it’ll be a nice surprise back. Thank you Kiat, thank you! Go and give them a visit. [:

This is the kind of stuff we love. Not theft or vandalism.
