Last Sunday, June 21st, was Nathan’s birthday. We were up at 4 and then up again at 7 to open his presents. I think my surprise I’d put together for him went down really well. I’d gotten him an autographed Feeder poster and put it in a really vintage looking frame from the local art shop. I also got him some really awesome looking shorts and I personalised a huge notebook for him to do his coding in.
He then got presents from the rest of the family. Including a voucher from Libby and some really ace jeans from my parents… and a shirt with his catchphrase “Awesome” on it. We went ice skating at the Guildford Spectrum which was so much fun. The ice was all bumpy and bloody scary, but it was hilarious all the same. We ate veggie burgers whilst watching the F1 on a huge screen and got back in the car. We got a bit lost on the way back… we ended up in a hospital waste area which was kind of freaky. We could only wonder how many arms and legs there were in all the bins around us! We got home in one piece anyway, even if we were hysterically laughing all the way.
To really celebrate we had a tea party in the Sun. It was beautiful and the weather really beamed down on us. We had cupcakes and scones with tea to drink and a massive carrot cake for Nathan which was coated with nuts. It was delicious!
Then we drove up the Hill to the lake we like to wander around. The Sun was still very high in the sky (as it was the Summer Solstice) but the atmosphere was really magical. We even had some strange man come and ask to see the photos we’d taken. By the end of the day we just crashed. Everything went fantastically and Nathan deserved the most amazing day.
