Wedding Photoshoot.

April 29th, 2009

Currently listening to a remix of the Wallace & Gromit theme tune, it is hysterical! Gotta love those clay characters and their wensleydale.

Wedding Photoshoot

So today we took my last photo for my Major which is seriously exciting! I’ve edited it and will put it up sometime. As for now I’ll put up a video of all the shots we got today (see link above!). It was heaps of fun with a lot of eyeliner, mascara and eye shadow. I think Nathan finally lived his secret fantasy of being Richard Alpert for the day with all that eyeliner on, but don’t tell him I said that! Hehe.

Alpert

So my back is still totally mangled. I’m a complete hunchback at the moment, so therefore I’m not going into Uni tomorrow. I emailed my tutor and I know he’s going to go ape and all the rest will be shit hitting the fan. Oh well, it’s not like he can actually do anything about it, so hah!

Enough bad-mouthing. [:

I think today has been one crazy rollercoaster and now I’m so ready for bed! I think I’ll call it a day. Until next time, peace out!

Crash
Chair

Those are just a little sneak peak to my upcoming exhibition in May.

Today has swept us off our feet! We woke up at 6.30 and I packed our bag for our 3 night stay at my parent’s. My Dad is away in America so we’re moving in to keep my Mum and sister company. By 8.30 we were actually on my parent’s doorstep with bags in tow. It was raining by that stage and we were both pretty cold as we’d dressed for the Sun which had decided to bugger off for the rest of the day.

I started on my workbook for my Major work (I should’ve started a good 6-7 weeks ago, but I enjoyed Easter break too much to lift a finger!) I kind of managed to ruin my book, so I gave up by which stage Nay was chatting away to his good friend, Tim. I floated through now and then before settling down on an uncomfortable chair, and as I stood up my back froze up. So I’ve had a heat patch on it for a good few hours now and it just feels plain soggy.

I had some sad news today too from my close friend, Sarah. I love her emails and this was her best one yet, but she had to make a difficult decision last week which would crack anybody. I know she breezes through this blog every now and again, so I just wanted to say, Nay and I are really proud of you Sarah. [:

My sister’s hamster has escaped and is currently running around the inside of the walls. We keep hearing her gnawing away and clawing things, it’s really quite scary but highly amusing to follow. She’ll come out again when she’s hungry, she always does.

Anyway, that was all to report on from our little corner of the World. Hope all is well in your’s? Peace out.

Pond: Outtakes

April 24th, 2009

Today we went to take some of my Major Project photographs on the Common. We wandered around to find a spot where grumpy people wouldn’t tell us for venturing into a protected pond. It was heaps of fun and we both came out smelling of swamp-monsters. The things I put this poor man through for my art. I’m sorry honey, but I really do love you!

Tah-dah!

It’s been such a beautiful day. We went with my Dad to pick up the new family car. It’s a huge Audi Q5 which seems like a beast compared to the A4! And my sister brought us home some sweets and chocolate from her day in Belgium yesterday. Yummy. [:

Together We Stand

It feels like I should have some big news to be reporting, but unfortunately I don’t. Nothing particularly amazing has happened as of late. It’s been 20+ degrees everyday which is odd for April, but we’re loving the sunshine so we’re not complaining in the slightest!

I have to go into Uni at 3 today and I really don’t want to. It feels like by the time I get up there, I’ve wasted half an hour of travelling, then I have a 20 minute talk and then half an hour back. I wouldn’t mind it, but I get very scared going up to that area. It’s very well known for being one of the most dangerous areas in London even though the whole place is supposedly under a regeneration plan. Hah. But I like my commute to Waterloo even if there are weirdos on the train and you get pushed around trying to get to your train.

My next driving test is in just 3 weeks now. Yes, this will now be the third time I have gone for it. They have made it insanely hard to pass as the driving age is so young, they want to make sure that young drivers are responsible enough. I was failed last time because I missed ONE mirror check. That was my ONLY fault. I burst into tears on the man and as he walked off, I cursed the back of his head. I hope karma gets him for that. I hope he doesn’t test me next time as he stank of cigarettes and made me want to gag the entire time. There is now a new law being set in place over the country to make the speed limit 20mph to lower deaths and they even announced on the news last night that they are going to make the driving test even harder. Great, I’m going to be 45 and still on my L’s. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Rant over.

Nay made a haystack for us to eat yesterday which was delicious. I went and boiled lettuce for the tadpoles. I even admitted to him that I was fully crazy to have been doing so. I really have lost the plot.

In other news, by next week or so, we’ll have booked our tickets to Australia. Hoorah! We need to visit the travel agents and see if they can get us a nice deal. At the moment they are saying that between certain travel dates the rates for Sydney are at £575 which is ludicrous! I paid £800 for my ticket last year, I feel so ripped off, damn you Qantas! It seems to be a lot cheaper to travel to Australia from the UK, but the other way around, it is really expensive and I’ll never understand why. Oh well, that’s just the way it’s going to be.

Anyway. I’m off to write some stuff up for Uni and then to eat lunch in the garden. Yum. Peace out.

Today.

Bicycle Love

Today was a beautiful day. It was magical from the second we woke up. We had a barbeque at my parent’s. Yes, English people do have barbeques too! We stuffed ourselves full with everything and then could do nothing but sit for a couple of hours as we felt fit to burst. How I love and hate that feeling.

Today we also found out that Connie has been rehomed. We can finally have some closure on her now. I’m so happy and I hope her new owners have the best time with her. Thank you Battersea for keeping her name and for also keeping her collar. Here she is. [:

I also added 300 words to my Uni essay. It is coming together all rather nicely. I’ll finish it off tomorrow as I have very little to go and can get it done within the morning.

Tomorrow is our 23 month anniversary. I’m super excited. It feels like we’ve been together for even longer than that, everyday has been so special because we’ve learned that everyday had to be special. We used to yearn for the day that we could live together. We waited for what seemed a lifetime. We were apart for 6 months before I arrived in Sydney. We spent 2 months together out ther before I got on a plane back to the UK. So Nathan chased me on a plane the next day. I’ve never had anyone chase after me to the other side of the World. I cried all the way back between sleeping for 20 hours. I stumbled around Bangkok with no credit to contact anyone I knew, I was totally alone in a strange country just wanting to hear Nathan’s voice. I landed in the UK and turned on my phone to receive a call straight away from him to tell me that he had booked a flight to come out to live with me. It was the best day of my life.

Since then we’ve been settling into life in the UK in all its glory (hah!) We’ll return to Australia really soon and I’m really looking forward to a change of scenery. In so many ways, the UK and Australia are so similar, but they are just so different too. I’d say they were different in more ways than they are similar. But I like different.

Anyway, this was just a little update from our little corner of the planet. Good evening World.
