Today.

Bicycle Love

Today was a beautiful day. It was magical from the second we woke up. We had a barbeque at my parent’s. Yes, English people do have barbeques too! We stuffed ourselves full with everything and then could do nothing but sit for a couple of hours as we felt fit to burst. How I love and hate that feeling.

Today we also found out that Connie has been rehomed. We can finally have some closure on her now. I’m so happy and I hope her new owners have the best time with her. Thank you Battersea for keeping her name and for also keeping her collar. Here she is. [:

I also added 300 words to my Uni essay. It is coming together all rather nicely. I’ll finish it off tomorrow as I have very little to go and can get it done within the morning.

Tomorrow is our 23 month anniversary. I’m super excited. It feels like we’ve been together for even longer than that, everyday has been so special because we’ve learned that everyday had to be special. We used to yearn for the day that we could live together. We waited for what seemed a lifetime. We were apart for 6 months before I arrived in Sydney. We spent 2 months together out ther before I got on a plane back to the UK. So Nathan chased me on a plane the next day. I’ve never had anyone chase after me to the other side of the World. I cried all the way back between sleeping for 20 hours. I stumbled around Bangkok with no credit to contact anyone I knew, I was totally alone in a strange country just wanting to hear Nathan’s voice. I landed in the UK and turned on my phone to receive a call straight away from him to tell me that he had booked a flight to come out to live with me. It was the best day of my life.

Since then we’ve been settling into life in the UK in all its glory (hah!) We’ll return to Australia really soon and I’m really looking forward to a change of scenery. In so many ways, the UK and Australia are so similar, but they are just so different too. I’d say they were different in more ways than they are similar. But I like different.

Anyway, this was just a little update from our little corner of the planet. Good evening World.

Prudence.

April 13th, 2009

Today we met a little soul called Prudence. She is the new companion of my Godmother and she is such a sweet looking devil. She just made me want to snatch her up and never let her go, but instead I got heaps of shots of her because we all know that puppies never stay small for long.

She was such a little poser, she just loved the sound of the shutter, it was hilarious. She’s a little camera-dog. She’d be perfect for us, I’d photograph her all the time!

Together.

April 6th, 2009

Love

The other night we headed out for dinner. Everything has been so busy lately that we’ve hardly had any time to just be together alone to spend some quality time together. The death of Nathan’s laptop has resulted in a lot more time together since I’ve been off Uni even though I should be doing my papers, but I just want to relax some more before I get stuck in. Anyway, I took him to a nearby town which was nice. We’d never been there together before and it was just empty as we walked around, it was seriously nice. We settled on eating in a Japanese sushi bar. The funny thing is, is that we’re both vegetarians – ruling out the fish option, so we thought we’d be pretty limited for choice. But we had soup and edamame beans and it was all so lovely. We were so amused by the conveyor belt with the coloured bowls on it, everything was fantastic.

It was actually hot this morning! We walked out the front door and we weren’t greeted by the usual cold air. It was warm and it felt so strange, but I can sure get used to it. I’d also love some rain though because I’m feeling daring and wanting to take some photos in it. All of a sudden I want to be daring and do crazy things, I don’t know whether it’s a young-life crisis thing, but I can’t help myself. I’ve got so many kooky ideas for photographs in my head for my Uni major work and I am so excited to see how it all turns out.

Blues

I keep falling asleep at night without realising and by the time I wake up, it’s 4am and I have my jeans and coat still on. I always go to the bathroom to splash water on my face to feel fresher before I climb back into bed for another few hours sleep. Last night I woke up because I heard Nay making weird noises, so I opened an eye to see what he was up to. He was trying out a license test on GT and couldn’t win and he was grunting and making really cute noises which I just couldn’t ignore. Why Nathan, do you have to be so sweet when you get frustrated?

Easter is this Sunday and I’m looking forward to all the joy it always brings. I love Easter. I always mark it as the beginning of great, new things. I love listening to the church bells on Easter morning. It just feels like for one day, the whole World is happy.

Map

Anyway, we’re going to start hopefully planning our holiday break soon before we jet off to Australia for a few months. I’m mega excited about all this travelling, I love exploring new places and Nathan seems to have a shared love of it too. [:

Formula 1, Grand Turismo, And Paninis!

April 4th, 2009

Formula 1

This morning we woke up and watched the F1 qualifications in Malaysia together, the seemingly latest development in a streak of racing addiction. All week we’ve been glued to the television every night whilst playing Grand Turismo 4, a racing game on the Playstation 2 and the epitome of our battle of the sexes. So far, men are losing. Badly.

Grand Turismo 4

This fit of all of things fast has been a long time coming, however. Kitty loves to sprint through the street with my hand in hers head long towards the park in a crazed frenzy of excitement, and has done so for as long as I can remember now. Our local park has been closed lately though for a sort of “rehabilitation” exercise, something which in actual fact has begun to resemble the site of a major nuclear accident, what with all the digging and the workman in their fluorescent boiler suits. Their aim is to have the park reopened for Summer, a goal which whilst I remain optimistic, is still far from their contorted grasp. Touch wood though, I’ve been looking forward for an excuse to have another picnic with my girl.

I’ve been a bit estranged lately as to what to get up to during the day, and whilst trying to give myself ample opportunity to simply just take this laptopless [sic] opportunity to relax, I do find myself sitting with my head between my hands, elbows on table, bored as the child within lacks mental stimulation.

I’ve always had an interest in cooking, and I love having the opportunity to cook for Kitty when possible, so maybe this is the opening I’ve been looking for to try some new recipe’s out on my test subject? We’ve been having mozzarella and tomato paninis a lot lately, which always go down a treat. I’ve included the recipe below if you’re game; they’re extremely simple to make, hardly taking any time at all to prepare and cook, and they taste divine.

Paninis

Mozzarella And Tomato Paninis

  1. Take the panini bread and slice it in half. Using a pastry brush, lighly cover the inside of the slices with some olive oil.
  2. Cut a fresh tomato into thin slices, and spread evenly over the inside of the panini bread.
  3. Slice some mozzarella cheese into slices, and spread over the tomatos on the inside of the panini bread.
  4. Place both slices of panini bread inside up in a grill or oven at approximately 180-200°C, and cook until both slices are lightly toasted, and the cheese is melted to taste.
  5. Leave to cool for 2 minutes before garnishing with basil, and adding salt and pepper to taste. Press both slices firmly together, slice into manageable pieces, and serve. Recipe makes 1 serving.

Well, there’s the recipe! Off to make some now for my love. =]
