Toast And Honey.

November 22nd, 2008

I’ve decided that after this blog, I’m going to go and make some toast and honey. Either that or a bowl of Special K which would go down a treat, I’m so hungry!

So this weekend is busy, busy, busy! My sister is getting confirmed tomorrow, so all the arrangements for the party are being frantically tied together. Thank God I’m not in charge then! I’m doing the photographs for the day which’ll be really fun because it just sounds really exciting! Nathan’s going to be doing photography too, so we’ll double our chances at getting great shots.

Yesterday we went on the most freezing walk with the dogs. We put on our wellies and took them around the common which was really nice, but a bloody pain with two very disobedient dogs. Ended up chasing after Hattie who was bounding after little toddlers with their scared parents. Very embarrassing. We then spent the day quietly, putting work together and just having a really slow day which is what we’ve needed for a very long time. Nathan usually doesn’t come to bed until 2-3am because of work and as I’m up at 8 every morning, he’s been getting run-down, as have I. So it was a really nice chance to just take a breather out of frantic life and to just relax!

We’re going to have to think of packing for Paris in a few weeks! Eeh, Christmas holiday! I’m so, so, so excited! But before then, I need to get Christmas shopping, but I’m hoping to do heaps out there too which’ll be interesting!

I wish it were Summer, but I’m not complaining! I quite enjoy the frost every morning and wrapping up in scarves and coats! In Summer, one gets all hot and bothered, but in Winter, one frantically grabs for the blankets and curls up to keep warm! All I miss is being able to eat meals in the garden.

I guess we still could though, but maybe in our snow gear?! That’s another thing! I’d really love to go skiing next year, it’d be so awesome. I know Nathan is a more keen snowboarder though, so I’d have to give boarding a go, it’d be such a laugh! I guess we’ll see what happens then!

Oh! Before I go, we’re off to Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland this year and it looks seriously amazing from previous year’s photos. Nathan and I saw it last year, but didn’t dare approach as we were headed for Harrods anyway. But this year we’ll venture into the madness. Hooray!

Anyway, I think that’s today’s update for now. More later with photos from the confirmation tomorrow.

Until next time!

18 Months Later.

November 21st, 2008

“Thanks Nathan. That is your name, right?!”
“It sure is!”

Nathan and I met in December 2006 by pure chance. We were both members of an art community and I decided to create a different account one morning. By coincidence, Nathan was busy greeting new members who had signed up within the past 5 minutes, so of course, my new account was on the list which he came to greet. I replied a simple, “Thank you” and nothing more was said. A few days later, I went back to his page to wish him a “Happy Christmas” and he kindly wished me one back. We lost contact until March 2007 when he came to comment on one of my photos of my blossom tree. I thanked him, saying his name and then asking if that was correct. He said it was. We chatted every day since then and became the best of friends. In him I found someone really fun who genuinely wanted to know about my life. Then it happened, on May 20th 2007, we admitted those growing feelings for one another. We spent every day wishing to be together physically, so we said we’d spend Christmas together. We did. We fell even more in love, and Nathan left back to Australia for 7 months when I decided to fly out there to join him for 2 months before returning to London with him following closely behind. Here we are, living in our own little place now and making huge steps towards our future together.

It’s funny how you never know where a year will take you. Last year, I never even thought that in a year’s time, I’d be sitting in this bed with a bouquet of roses next to me, a glass of coke and a day full of smiles and fun. I can’t believe it’s been a year and a half already! It’s making me feel really old, and I don’t want to be that old just yet! It’s fun being young and looking forward to all the good things to come instead of wishing all that time away just to get what you want and where you want to be.

So today I was busy taking black and white portraits and decided to do my parent’s dogs. This was a more successful shot of the black labrador… I proudly present, Hattie!

Bonfire Night.

November 6th, 2008

Remember, remember the 5th of November,
Gunpowder, treason and plot,
I see no reason why gunpowder and treason,
Should ever be forgot.

Well, it’s that time of year again when the sun sets by 3.30, the cold nips your nose and ears and everyone whips out those bonfires and sets off those fireworks. Yes, it would be Guy Fawkes, and my is it louder than ever this year. The fireworks have only just died down at midnight since they started at about 5. They’re so loud they make your chest feel hollow and they illuminate your entire room. It’s always an adrenalin-filling moment when you seen those lights and here the delayed bangs as you stand in the light of one mega huge bonfire and hold hot chocolate to keep yourself warm.

We’re off to celebrations on Saturday which’ll be nice. They always have fireworks syncronizhed to music which makes the entire ground shake and your ears come away ringing as you hold all your scarves to you to stop the frost creeping in!

This was just a short update for now. We’ll have more to share come the weekend. And is it just us, or are those Google ads on our page just obsessed with weight-loss?

Anyway, cheerio for now! Stay warm!

A Late Halloween!

November 1st, 2008

I got these little terrors from Goobeesta. They’re seriously awesome and really worth doing to add a bit of fun-spook to your room! They’ve been sitting around for weeks now, but I decided to put up their photo today. They’re really cool little paper toys.

We went to see Quantum of Solace which was a really great film. It would’ve been very confusing if I’d not have seen Casino Royale about 2 days before as they refer a lot of the new film back to that storyline. Lots of explosions and fighting, but the part that’ll always stick clear in my mind was the granny at the beginning who had her cherries dropped and she started to curse in Italian. All that just to remember a grandma! Nah, I remember a lot more, and gosh was it cool. [:

Lookie here! It’s an Unfinity Design pumpkin! Definitely a great design on Nathan’s behalf. After being cleared out by trick-or-treaters, we curled up on the sofa before retiring to bed, but not before eating M&M’s and drinking way too muchJ2O!

Anyway, that’s all for now! [:
